
Non-custodial exchange Boltz announced a new atomic swap service between the Bitcoin Liquid sidechain and the Lightning network.
The new platform, thrown to the public this May 24, called Liquid Swao, will allow exchanges, without intermediaries, between both Bitcoin second layer solutions.
Users can go to Liquid Boltz and exchange funds between both networks. According to the company publication, this solution is aimed at create alternatives in times of network congestion main bitcoin, as both Liquid and the Lightning network are cheap alternatives for bitcoin exchange.
In a test carried out by CriptoNoticias on this new platform, sending a total of 0.00100000 BTC from Liquid to the Lightning network, has a commission of 147 sat or 0.00000147 BTC. The platform charges 0.1% commission for each transaction.
The platform is fully open source, and its developers assure that it is without custodians.
This is not the first time Boltz has created solutions to transfer liquidity to the Lightning network. In 2019, this same company released a tool to transfer bitcoins to the Lightning networkbut using atomic swaps, as reported by CriptoNoticias.
Liquid is one of the most famous Bitcoin sidechains. Its implementation dates back to 2018, being adopted by companies such as Bitfinex, BitMEX, Bitso, among others. Its development is in charge of the Blockstream company, although it is completely decentralized and open source.
